– Being Through

“…keeping the rich rich and damn the poor... what are you made of Miss America, will you and I get into heaven?”

– Miss America

“Tonight, I’m setting sail on a boat called shipwreck. It’s a tinderbox of lost and found.”

– Illusion Man

Reid Andrés, A Storyteller in Song

Reid Andrés (also performing as RC Andrés) is a singer-songwriter who crafts cinematic songs that blend earthy folk, soulful world rhythms, and the bittersweet twang of country—a cocktail served on the rocks, with heart and grit.

Born with a drummer’s heartbeat and raised in suburban Philadelphia, Reid’s musical journey began in jazz and flourished across the globe: in the subways of Barcelona, the drum circles of Ghana, and along the pacific shores of Samoa. These diverse landscapes shaped a musical voice that is as rich and varied as his travels.

For over a decade, Reid was a rhythmic force in New York City, wielding cajons, congas, and percussion at iconic venues like The Iridium, Barbes, and Zinc. Collaborating with Latin rumberos and Brazilian sambistas, he became a sought-after musician. But it was when Reid turned to the guitar and began writing and singing his own songs that his true artistic voice emerged.

Drawing from Americana and Country traditions, Reid writes songs steeped in grit, grace, and humanity. His debut album, Distilled (2019), introduced listeners to a storyteller who captures life’s raw edges and quiet ironies—from the beauty of anonymity in New York City with “No Place” to the satirical grin of “Miss America.”

Distilled & In Good Company

Now, Reid prepares to release his sophomore album, In Good Company, in early 2025. Produced by renowned bassist Ben Zwerin (Lizz Wright, Angélique Kidjo, Nouvelle Vague), the album features an all-star lineup of musicians from the touring bands of Bonnie Raitt, Amos Lee, and Steely Dan.

Recorded in upstate New York, In Good Company weaves Reid’s evocative lyrics and rhythmic strumming with lush arrangements, textured instrumentation, and haunting harmonies. The album covers a lot of ground, offering listeners a collection of well-curated songs that feel both intimate and timeless—melodies and stories that linger long after the last chord fades.

Reid composed the original songs and performs lead vocals, acoustic guitar, and percussion, on both albums. Zwerin skillfully produced, arranged, and engineered the projects, contributing bass, additional instrumentation, and background vocals. Grammy Award-winning engineers Eber Pinheiro and Alex Psaroudakis lent their expertise to mixing and mastering.

Whether on stage or in the studio, Reid Andrés invites listeners into a world of vivid storytelling and heartfelt connection. His music feels like stepping into a room filled with well-worn furniture and warm conversation—a reminder of the power of songs to resonate, heal, and connect us by the fire.
